Wedding favors, why it's okay to skip them!

You’re planning a wedding and considering skipping favors i’m here to tel you its completely okay if you do! Often times bride and grooms feel pressured to have favors at their weddings but i’m here to tell you it’s acceptable if you choose not to and here are three reasons why.

1: NOBODY WILL NOTICE IF YOU DON’T HAVE FAVORS

I did not have to have favors at my wedding 17 years ago. My reason for this was time and money. I didn’t see the point of spending money on them and I didn’t have the time to hand make 200+ wedding favors. No one came up to me and said “you don’t have wedding favors”. Believe me your guests probably won’t even notice you don’t have them.

2: THEY GET LEFT BEHIND

As a Tampa wedding photographer I photograph A LOT of weddings every year. So I can honestly say that more times than not wedding favors end up being left at the wedding, thrown away, or overlooked entirely and they just sit there. I’ve even seen where the guests feel awkward taking one of them because they don’t want to be rude and just assume that there is enough for every guest in attendance. I’ve seen very expensive favors go to waste because of this very reason.

3: WASTE OF MONEY

I did some research and found that wedding favors can cost anywhere from $200 to over $800 for custom made favors. In my opinion I’d rather spend that money on flowers, a wedding album, or just save it for after the wedding.

Skipping favors all together is a personal choice, but i’m here to tell you that its okay if you decide not to have them. You aren’t breaking some cardinal rule of wedding etiquette if you don’t have them.
