When some people think of headshots they might be thinking of those cheesy late 80's early 90’s glamour shots or stuffy corporate studio images that look cold and unapproachable. But a personal branding session (also called lifestyle headshots or business branding) is a little different. While it is the same concept because it’s photos of you, but it's different because it's a modern, fun, interactive, and professional!
When you hear the word “brand” immediately certain well known companies logos and stores come to mind. But do we know who the CEO of that company is or what his or her face looks like? More than likely not. While we love a certain brand that is a large corporate company and we might shop there often, it’s not a personal customized experience each time we go to their store (in person or online). So how much more important it is as small business owners that we reach our customers in a real and memorable way. I feel strongly that every business, no matter if it’s local or worldwide should have a clear vision of what they specialize in and be well branded with their website, logo, and headshots.
I am a firm believer that as a small business owner you NEED to show your face to your clients. People, other businesses, wedding vendors want to see YOU and connect to you as the face of your business. Studies have shown that if your website, blog, and social media do not have any photos you that potential clients are less likely to book you or spend money at your place of business because they feel like they can’t trust you as a business owner. Think of it this way, not only are you selling a product or a service, but you’re also selling an experience. This is a great way to connect to your clients, followers, audience, etc; and to gain their trust for them to feel comfortable investing in you and your business.
