Again I'm posting and blogging about food and cocktails because it's a new avenue of photography for me, something new and different for me to photograph but I am truly enjoying photographing food and having a lot of fun with food styling. So here you go, it's a super yummy blackberry basil spritzer and it can easily be made into a mocktail for those living a sober lifestyle.
Blackberry Basil Spritzer!
2 pints of fresh blackberries
1 Cup of water
1/4 cup of maple syrup, honey or sugar
Fresh basil leaves
Brut champagne or club soda if you are living a sober lifestyle
Combine water, your sweetener of choice, blackberries, and basil into a pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Allow to simmer once boiling for 30 minutes. It should look dark the black berries should have lost pigmentation. Tampa food photographer Nina Bashaw
Once it has cooled down, strain and filter the syrup and smash the blackberries so it releases all the juice and flavor.
Once it’s completely cool fill your glass 1/4 - 1/2 of the way full and then fill it up with champagne or club soda.
